Lancaster project at the Air Force Museum

We visited the Air Force museum in Trenton, Ontario a couple of days ago to take a look at their Lancaster bomber project. The aircraft had been on display in Edmonston, New Brunswick for the last five decades before being disassembled and moved in 2017. It will join the Halifax bomber rescued from a Norwegian lake in 1995 and restored over a ten year period.
Unfortunately the Lancaster is in pieces in the restoration shop and back yard, hidden away from public viewing. Too bad, as I think this is pretty interesting!
The restoration is scheduled to be completed by 2024 and is apparently is ahead of schedule.  Can't wait to see the two big bombers on display side by side. Only place in the world!
Lots of space... just move that Halifax a little this way... it'll fit....

Fuselage

Wing sections and nacelles.

The cockpit section is still outside, but well wrapped against the weather. Behind, the in-process Hudson restoration.

Plaque from the Edmonston site.
