Faced with declining motorcycle sales during the depression, the Scott Motorcycle company did all sorts of jobs to keep the doors open and much experimentation was done to try to find new products. These two photos of a supercharged 90 degree V4 two stroke engine were taken in 1929 or '30. Cylinder blocks from the motorcycle engine were attached to a common crankcase and a four throw crank was used. The use of a rotary blower and a rotary valve allowed cylinders to be filled without using crankcase scavenging. Good ideas, but the project never progressed beyond the prototype phase.
thanks, Jon!
