We used to make things in this country #312 Craig Mfg. Winnipeg Man.

The Miller All-Width bread knife. Age unknown but would appear to be postwar? I can't find any information on either the knife or the company that made it but it's well made and works well, still in everyday use with the family that's had it since new.

The inventor, R. O. Miller, was a bread baker at the time he invented this so that explains his understanding of a need for a knife like this. Here's a bit about his life (the lech married his secretary lol); even though he lived in ND the knife was distributed first in Canada then he died before establishing a US presence:

It was patented in 1942: https://patents.google.com/patent/US2301737A/en

and here's an advertisement from 1948 so you're right about it being postwar: https://books.google.com/books?id=xkMEAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA2&lpg=PA2&dq=Miller+All-Width+bread+knife&source=bl&ots=GCuZ0NXvky&sig=ACfU3U3mYcnDNPOJqr28yGoBK2ug6OdizQ&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiFj9Geye_oAhXQQc0KHQYYBBIQ6AEwEHoECAwQKA#v=onepage&q=Miller%20All-Width%20bread%20knife&f=false

All in all it sounds like the breadman lived a good life.

Thanks! I looked and did not find that info. I'll add it to the post. Much appreciated!
