Bush Baby is the name on the hood but this is a fine blend of a Bren Gun Carrier (Universal carrier) and 1946 or '47 Ford truck. I didn't get close enough to see how the drivers controls under the right side of the truck hood had been adapted to the new truck drivers position.

absolutely! I'd love to find that somewhere abandoned in the woods.I grew up with some of these military conversions, my dad built logging equipment with WWII tank chassis back in the 60's and 70's. When I was about 10 I had a tank retreiver (a tow truck for tanks) in my yard to play on. It was driveable, my dads friends borrowed it a couple times to do some beer fueled runs through the forest. I really enjoy your efforts here, I've been lurking for several years
Thanks for the kind words! Sounds like a good life for a kid, we need more of that. There was a Bren carrier near where we spent summers, it was painted red with the armour cut off the rear part. He used it for logging. I wanted that thing even at 10 years old. I still do.

Apparently 4 or so British Valentine tanks were imported into Perth, Western Australia to be used as the basis for clearing vehicles. One of the hulls was located and is going to be restored.
