Sidecar Sunday

George Brown's record-breaking Vincent "Nero" started with a burnt-out wreck of a Rapide in the early 1950s. It was improved and modified continually by the Brown brothers throughout its life and ran both solo and with sidecar (minimal). Above is the configuration as it was in 1961 when Brown broke the world record for the standing start kilometer sprint. In 1962, a new supercharged Vincent was constructed with a supercharger to become "Super Nero" and displacement increased to 1500 cc. This bike was still breaking records in 1970.

It wasn't necessary for the platform to have a passenger when a record run was attempted?
