Been looking high + low for a bolt-on rutschgefahr diminisher. Thank you for the lead!

There sure were a lot of tricked-out VWs infesting the Detroitish area c. 1969-1979: giant fibreglas fenders to accommodate 10"w M/T street slicks, spoilers fore and aft (and nicer-looking than the one shown here), modified "standoff" hood hinges to allow room to run dual Weber DDs on preposterous manifolds, chopped tops of course, and the highly significant EMPI sticker tastefully displayed. The custom Bugs could look absurd and gorgeous at the same time, although quite a few simply looked silly.

EMPI is still in bidness!

Dang, the URL got autodeleted from that post. Just google EMPI if you're even interested.

How does tilting the front bumper bar by 45 degrees give better acceleration?
