Here's another corroded and neglected 3 1/2" axe. We can read "MADE IN" on the head before it disappears into rust pits. The logo on the handle has a maple leaf in what might be a C or G and E in a fat seventies kind of font. Below that is the word King. Anyone with any ideas for deciphering this one?
Update (next day) !
"It's "KING HICKORY"!! There are traces of blue paint in the indentations. The camera didn't show it, but my loupe worked. (Need to rest my eyes after all the squinting!)
There's a US axe brand "FOREST KING" as you may know. Since the "KING" starts below the second letter of the logo, maybe FOREST was below the first letter (G?) and wore out?
Looking again at the logo, it's possible that it is "GENUINE", rather than a brand name, but it would be odd to have the maple leaf logo in it. I can find no "GENUINE" axe brands."
