Hard to tell from the coal smoke hiding the details of the harbour but these two rival steamboats are leaving Toronto at the same time. Needless to say someone has to get away first. The Corona of the Niagara Navigation company is in the foreground, the Macassa of the Hamilton Steamboat company is right beside it.
