I can't quite tell what the object is that rests atop the wheel shroud in the foreground. A suitcase*? A small entry-hall table w/single drawer? A full-size piano accordion in its box?

* An English gentleman would never visit the seaside without some changes of linen and sox, shaving kit, ham sandwich, etc.

I wondered that, went looking, and they're surface radiators! On both sides. Seems like an afterthought... The drawing also points out the "huge gearbox" and "very strong" rear axle. No ham sandwich. Post updated. thanks!

They used that surface radiator idea on world record aircraft as well, just don't hang out on the ground too long!
