Orenda engines grew out of the Turbo Research company founded in 1944 to study the new jet engine technology. It was part of the Avro Canada group and focused on axial flow turbines instead of the Whittle type engines. This ad is from 1957 when the Avro Arrow was being developed- and the future was rosy.
