New York City Skyport, seaplane dock

In the 1920s, if you commuted to downtown New York by seaplane, this is where you arrived, it's still operational today.

The top pic, single engined seaplane is a Sikorsky S-39; 21 made so pretty rare, even then. Three remain today.

Still operational but now just a wooden boat dock, nothing like the romantic era of old sea planes taxiing up a inclined ramp! I wish I had a time machine...

Was that a turntable at the front so that the aircraft could be turned around for takeoff?
