Double claw carpenter's hammer

 Patented Nov. 4, 1902

All of the Voights seem to have that same defect (?) that would make me afraid to hit anything with it lest I get a piece of hammerhead in my eye:

This is a really nice looking one; probably rare but I would maybe even use it. I do find myself slipping a piece of 1x (or a screwdriver handle) under a claw occasionally, to pull a longer nail. But as io get older and more arthritic I'm more apt to go get the right tool.

Seems like a answer to a question not many asked. A carpenter should be rarely be pulling nails, and that's a lot of extra weight plus it must affect the balance? But for a guy who was renovating or disasembling crates, it just might be the perfect tool.
