A little terminology curiosity comes to mind:
'Condenser' is a term that was long ago supplanted by 'capacitor', except with respect to the condenser/capacitor used in piston-engine, breaker-point ignition systems.
To this day, it's still called a 'condenser', not a 'capacitor', when one is speaking of the component for a breaker-point ignition system. Why that usage has stuck so firmly is a mystery.
