General Electric Tachometer

Electric aircraft tachometer found at a swapmeet and picked up for no particular reason. According to the various labels on it, it was made by General Electric and is a Model 8D, type DJ13. What aircraft it's from isn't clear but as a guess, late fifties and military?

Any chance for it to be a helicopter "engine vs. rotor" tacho combination ?

I think the scale around the edge is hundreds of RPM, the small dial is thousands. The two numbers are added together to give a quite accurate reading.

This type of tach was used on Delta’s DC-3 at the end of the “3’s” service at the airline in 1960. I’ve been looking for a pair of them to complete a display panel.
