Yamaha introduced the DT-1 250 in 1968, setting the stage for a new era of dual purpose bikes. Suzuki jumped onboard enthusiastically.

71 Suzuki TSs rule! My 125 was the optional yellow with black stripe; preston Petty white front fender added quickly and stock rear painted to match. Eventually Borrani rims were added - 21 at front naturally - along wit Hooker expansion chamber, Koni shocks and a few other mods. Poor ol bike musta had 200k on it when I made the mistake of getting rid of it...
Actually Mr G, the factory MXers were yellow and black, but that did not become standard for the TM series until later. For example, the TM 400 in 71 was orange with a black stripe. There was no TM125 that year. In 71, the TS125 was available in two colours, as was the TS250. Hafta go look in my literature, but I believe the 185 had options too. 90s and 400s were only available in one hue as I remember, as were TC models, but dont quote me nor bet the farm. Feel free to make that wager on TS125s tho!

Yellow and black was the MX colours! Extra points for that. They're all fun, the TS185 is my favorite.
