Timmis Ford Roadster

Collector Car  & Car Classics June,1980

How's this for a replicar? In 1967 Andrew Timmis of Victoria BC decided he would build a replica of the 1934 Ford Roadster and that he would make it as genuine as possible. The car was built on a genuine 1934 chassis using a rebuilt flathead V8 sourced directly from Ford Canada. The body was produced by the company in fibreglass, the hood is steel. Most of the mechanical parts were also genuine period Ford parts. Because the 1934 brakes were mechanical, Timmis has modernized to hydraulic but still drum. With the modernized V8 producing about 50% more power than the original, the car will run with modern traffic.

By 1974 the company had built 10 and sold them. A second series was started in 1978 and to date about 25 have been built, leaving the factory at the rate of about one per year- although apparently they do have number plates for a total of fifty cars.

Specs here.

At first glance, I thought we had a picture of the same model car that my uncle drove to Phoenix in the 30's...then I noticed the Jag hood ornament. :-)

That's a Greyhound for the hood ornament not a Jaguar.
