Posting this as an attempt to balance off the overexposure of the 911 on the internet, Let's hear a little love for this little square 2 litre mid-engined bit of fun...
I was not aware of the 916, but the 6 cyl. 914 was a holy grail back then. I'm also reminded of the guy racing one back then, powered by a Datsun 510 engine. Wonder what happened to that one....

I always felt these handled better than the tail heavy 911. I always wanted the 916.
I had a 912 and a 914, the 914 handled a lot better.
