When I was a young lad I knew a couple of fellow SCCA members who had them. They said they liked them but I couldn't help but notice that both of them were short, slightly built men. Not a lot of room once you climbed over the big sill.
Ad header is set in the terrible* '70s font Avant Garde. The cap W was an "alternative character" offered, for extra superduper grooviness, along with a more presentable standard W.
* It was only c. 80 percent terrible in itself, but holy cats it was so popular! Avant Garde became the graphic equivalent of the most inane '70s Top 40 radio hit you can summon to mind. The kind that was played on 15-minute rotation, so there was no escaping it.

That yellow one has the Renaut16 engine in it, wouldn't you rather want
the 2L Ford twincam, and an extra 20 horses ?
Fellow I bought my first Mini from had one. He was 6 footish, but definitely on the scrawny side.

And the early models didn't have even have adjustable seats apparently...
Avant Garde- makes you want to space the letters out properly!
