Monday Mystery, INDEX 24mm wrench

Not really a big mystery, but I can't find a manufacturer named Index, so it might actually be a tool for "indexing"? Thoughts?

Index is, was a machine tool brand. I don't know if they still exist or not. They made turret milling machines like bridgeport.

iNDEX js kinda still around and still in MI. The old documentation is online but not searchable; there may be a mention of that wrench somewhere (is it really 24 mm or does that number mean something else?):

Thanks! It is 24 mm. Index, the name in relation to milling machines is starting to twig a memory...

The typeface is identical to the logo on the INDEX automatic (cam type) lathes in the factory of my employer. They ran unattended making parts hour after hour. No computer necessary.
