Smallblock testing at GM

Referencing The Duke's post yesterday on the GM engine cross section, I recalled finding this picture of some serious gentlemen testing the new small block V8 introduced in 1955, then in 265 cu in size. The engine was so successful it was produced in various forms and sizes until 2003 and is still produced as a "crate motor" in small quantities today.
The pictures below are from the 1956 model year when it was available in two forms, 165 hp and 195 hp with 4 bbl carb and dual exhausts.

Everything about a 56 Chevy, reprinted for Sueed's Enterprises, Cal Central Press. Saramento
