Renault for 1946

La Vie Quotidienne des Français au XXe Siecle.  1900-2000.  Booster-LPM, 1999.
La Régie Nationales des Usines Renault was the name given by Charles de Gaulle to the Renault firm after he expropriated and nationalized it in 1945.  Although Louis Renault had refused to make tanks for the Germans following the fall of France, his company did make trucks for them and his factories were bombed on several occasions by the allies.  Although he insisted that he had not collaborated with the Germans, Renault was arrested by the French in 1944 and died in prison awaiting his trial.
