Another British world beater

Taken from the November 2001 issue of Classic Bike, send in your deposits, it's just about to be released!

This one does nothing for me, the proportions aren't quite there, motor is not attractive, and a drum brake in the new Millenium? I think that was about the last we saw of it...

The dreamridden entrepreneur behind it had probably reviewed the stellar sales success of Yamaha's SRX600 and concluded that an ugly nostalgia bomb would take the market by storm.

I remember looking at a brand new SRX600 in the crate at a Yamaha dealer that was damaged in shipping with a large tank dent and minor scrapes but otherwise mostly fine. they wanted $1600 for it but I had no money. I felt helpless not to be able to buy it.

I don't feel the motor itself is unattractive but it's obscured by that mastodon bone of a down tube. The designer of the frame forgot that the name of the contraption is "MOTORcycle". We expect a clear view of the motor - part of the reason for lack of success of the Honda Pacific Coast in my opinion.
