Have you ever used a wringer washer? You'd cry with joy with a new automatic washer too!

Odds are that the ladies in the wringer washer ads looked just as happy, though. They could kiss the washboard goodbye.

I agree with Mister G. Washing clothes was hard heavy wet hot work. A wringer was an improvement over boiling clothes and an automatic machine just amazing. And they were very expensive too. A family would need to seriously consider the cost.

Washing machines have become commodities we have forgotten what hard work it used to be.
