Long Distance aircraft of choice

The Vickers Vimy bomber was the first plane to fly the Atlantic nonstop and also used to make England to Australia and England to South Africa flights. Here is the plane and crew that made the historic flight first flight to Australia in December 1919.

As John Alcock said on landing after his trans-Atlantic flight, ""Yesterday I was in America, and I am the first man in Europe to say that." A flying replica was built and has logged over 64,000 kilometers so far. Visit http://www.vimy.org/.
