Verville-Sperry Racer

The Verville-Sperry R3 Racer would reach 230 mph in 1922 and was the second airplane to have fully retractable landing gear. Three were built. After two years of service, they were retired and placed in the McCook Field museum. The museum was closed in 1927 and I have not been able to find whether the airplanes survived.
