Early aviation sensation Harry Atwood taking off from the south lawn of the White House in his Burgess-Wright Model F after visiting President Taft. July 14 1911. Atwood had just flown a record distance from New York to Washington. The trip had taken 10 days and 2 airplanes to complete.
