Engine cutaway

I've always liked cutaway display engines.

This is the 28 cylinder radial Pratt and Whitney Wasp Major (R-3460).

Bore 5.8" Stroke 6" (4 rows of 9)
2800 HP at 2700 rpm as originally built.
3500 HP as used on the B-36 Bomber.
4500 HP as used on certain 'Reno racers"
Weight 3600 lbs

Aircraft using the R-4360
B-36 (6 Pusher engines)
Spruce Goose (8 engines)
Douglas Mercator and Mauler
Douglas Globemaster
Boeing Stratocruiser

On display at the Owls Head Transportation Museum
