Pat Mahoney: King of Brands

Above, from Scoop Sports Annual 1982.  (London, England:  D.C. Thomson & Co. Ltd.)

In 1970, Mahoney partnered with Barry Sheene on a Gus Kuhn Norton for the Barcelona 24 hour race. In April he was crowned King of Brands after successfully competing in 3 classes:  250cc (TDIC Murphy Yamaha);  350cc (AJS Gus Kuhn 7R) and Unlimited (750CC Gus Kuhn Norton).

Tragically, he never fully recovered either mentally or physically from his injuries sustained in the 1975 spill at Brands Hatch.  He passed away in 2006.
