Above, a Chinese-made "Accutire" pressure gauge. To remove the battery, you have to remove 3 Phillips screws to separate the 2 halves of the case, then all 9 Phillips screws to completely disassemble the works, at which point everything comes apart. It was clearly designed to be thrown away when the battery died. This is simply pathetic. How on earth did we get to this point? Thank god for my old stick gauges--they don't use batteries and they last forever. (Although the quality of ones made today can be pretty poor as well.)
