Flxible Bus Company

Today in this case means 1951, when the Flxible company was in its heyday. The company started as the Flexible Sidecar Company in 1913 and soon branched out into ambulances, transit and intercity buses under the leadership of Charles Kettering. During WW2 they built control cars, rudders and fins for Goodyears antisubmarine blimps.  Flxible took over a competitor, the Fageol Twin Coach Company in 1953. In the fifties and sixties the company began to phase out their other products in order to concentrate on transit buses and were one of the country's largest bus manufacturers- till they filed for bankrupcy in 1996.
