Ossa 175 Sport

For 1965 Ossa took its 160-T out to 175 cc with an overbore, revised the porting and added a larger carburetor to make the performance-oriented 175 Sport shown here in a Cycle magazine article.
There were two versions, the 175 Sport and the faster 175 SE, engine serial numbers will contain either the letter S or SE. It stood up quite well against it's competitors, the Bultaco Metralla and Montesa Impala, though all three Spanish bikes were primitive compared to the Japanese bikes of the time. The US importer added the cartoon bear as a mascot, which seems a bit incongruous.
