Westland Wyvern

The Wyvern was a British carrier-based design first flown in 1946. Basically obsolete before it was built by development in jet fighters, it was used through the 50s. This photo is of a prototype using the Rolls Royce 24 cylinder Eagle engine. The production version used a turboprop with the engine located behind the pilot.
