Ploughing with steam
Three
Avery steam tractors
break up the soil in the Candian West about 1912. Each tractor, developing 30 BHP, pulls a 10 furrow plow for a total swath of 35 feet. Travelling a total of about 18 miles, they ploughed 56 acres per day.
