Nikolai Mikhailov. Discovering the Soviet Union. Moscow: Progress Publishers, 1965. |

The Stalin Auto Works was renamed to honour Ivan Alexeivich Likhachev on his death in 1956. He once ran the factory before becoming Soviet Minister of automobile transport and highways. Curiously for that Cold War era, he reportedly learned about auto manufacturing on his many trips to Detroit.
