An entirely new SS for 1935



"Jaguar" was originally only a model name for one vehicle produced by the SS Car Company.  The model name became the company name 1945 to avoid disagreeable associations with the Nazi use of these initials.

When Bill Lyons wanted to rename SS cars he bought the rights to the Jaguar name from JD Siddeley of Armstrong Siddeley who had registered it as the trade name for their WW 1 aircraft engine
