Warner & Swazey Turret lathe

Henry Dreyfus; Industrial Design A pictorial Accounting 1929-1957
Industrial Design meets heavy machinery. Designer Henry Dreyfus (known more his streamlined Hudson locomotives) worked on lathes for Warner and Swazey in the 1940s-50s. I'd have to see the "before" pictures to comment on how successful this partnership was...
The company was best known for two general types of products: astronomical telescopes and turret lathes. They were  leaders in the transition to NC and CNC machine tools. The company was acquired by Bendix Corporation in 1980.
