William H. Nicholson emigrated from England in the mid 1860s and settled in Wilkes Barre. After inventing an adjustable mandrel, the W. H. Nicholson Company was formed to make a line of machine tool and steam control devices. In this 1921 ad, the emphasis on the foreign agencies is unusual for an American company.
The company, now located in Walden NY still makes steam control devices.
