Published by the A.L. Burt Company (New York) in 1905, it's interesting to see the automobile beginning to gain enough acceptance to be the subject of a novel. It was co-written by the British novelist Alice Muriel Williamson and her husband Charles Norris Williamson. They jointly authored a number of novels, many about the early days of motoring. The book was made into a silent movie by the Germans in 1926. The book begins:
