Evans Corp. (plastic scissors)

An ad in a toy industry magazine from 1947, injection moulding scissors was brand new technology. If I had to guess the material, probably styrene, the cheapest plastic that will hold an edge. Styrene had only been introduced in America in 1937 by Dow chemical, the screw injection moulding machine as recently as 1946.
No info online that I can find on the Evans Corporation of Chicago.

I don't think that the company was related to the H. C. Evans & Company of Chicago (different addresses) which was a leading manufacturer of casino equipment and supplies - both honest and crooked. That company seems much more interesting- they produced a catalog of crooked casino devices called the "Secret Blue Book". I'd love to see that catalog- for sale here. Abebooks.com
